The son of Kingman has been pretty much faultless to date, winning both his starts as a juvenile, starting at Sandown back in August winning a nice maiden and then going on to back that up over the same course and distance.

He made his seasonal debut at Newcastle on the all weather seeing off a stern effort from the Richard Fahey trained Acquitted but off the back of that he improved a massive amount to hunt down Pinatubo late in the day at Royal Ascot in the St James’s Palace Stakes.

Having four wins from four races, he put his unbeaten run on the line in the Group One Jacques Le Marois and in heavy ground cleared away from the field with the Jessica Harrington trained Alpine Star the closest to him.

That set him up perfectly for his final run of the season in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on British Champions Day, but unfortunately he had to settle for third and lost his unbeaten record, losing a shoe mid-way through the race.

This term, he has been better than ever in his four starts making his seasonal debut at Sandown in the Group Two bet365 Mile and in a race to blow the cobwebs away he took the event by eight lengths.

Fully tuned up for the season, he took on the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury over a mile and again sauntered to victory, with him and Lady Bowthorpe going clear in the final stages.

His early part of the season was all targeted towards his run in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and in gritty style he made it three wins from three for the season.

Set to turn up in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood he was pulled out with a blood disorder, but having got over that was seen last time out becoming the first horse to land back to back renewals of the Prix Jacques Le Marois since 1997.

A horse that has only been beat once in his 10 race career, he will be looking for revenge in this race and is the stand out candidate to take another Group One.

William Haggas
Age: 3
Weight: 9-1

Days: 41

The highly rated three year old only started his racecourse career at the start of June and has since gone on to win all four of his events in fine style, winning more impressively each time.

Having landed a decent Maiden at Leicester on his debut, Haggas sent him into a Novices event next time out at Newmarket and went on to bolt up by nearly eight lengths.

Firmly putting himself as a horse to follow, he improved once more to land the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes on the July Course, seeing off smart stars Maximal and One Ruler with ease.

Last time out at Glorious Goodwood he took on his toughest field yet in the Group Three Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes, but once again he took it in his stride and saw off El Drama by close to seven lengths.

All set for a step up to Group One company he went on to make it a perfect 5/5, landing the Prix du Moulin on his first trip to France.

He is the horse with the most potential in the field but will need to give a career best performance to beat Palace Pier.

A highly consistent animal, The Revenant has raced 16 times during his career, only finishing outside the top three on one occasion and overall amounting 10 wins to his name.

The son of Dubawi has landed two of the last three renewals of the Prix Daniel Wildenstein and in between that has gone on to finish second and first in the last two renewals of this race.

This season he has been seen three times to date at Saint-Cloud over a mile but they have both looked like prep runs for bigger things this season.

Last time out he was seen finishing a narrow second the smart Real World in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein on Arc weekend, with him getting going too late.

He seems to come into his own around September/October time with most of wins coming in these months and being one of the very few horses to beat the star miler Palace Pier, he looks a big price at 7/1.

Weight: 9-1

Days: 22

The three year old has been seen six times during his career, making his debut in June 2020 at Newmarket over seven furlongs and getting off the mark in good style.

He then went into the Group Two Superlative Stakes over the same course and distance and beat a smart field by three lengths.

Trying to keep his unbeaten juvenile record he went to the Curragh for the Group One Vincent O'Brien National Stakes and finished a stellar fourth behind the best of the Irish, that have all since franked the form in the Dewhurst Stakes.

The colt made his first start this year at Meydan in February in a Listed event over a mile and he finished a good second behind stablemate Naval Crown.

He then came back over to England for a prep run ahead of the 2000 Guineas in the Group Three Craven Stakes and in taking style saw off another stablemate in La Barrosa.

It was all systems go for the first Classic event of the season and with William Buick choosing the colt over other Appleby trained entries, he was always set to go close.

In a photo-finish he finished a narrow second to Poetic Flare for Jim Bolger, with the winner obviously since franking the from multiple times.

Having not been seen since then after a slight setback he returned in the Group Two Joel Stakes where he managed to finish third of the seven runners, Ultimately needing the run.

Needs to have come on for that a fair bit to get involved but that is not ruled out.

The daughter of No Nay Never cost €40,000 and looks a bargain for what she has shown so far, getting off the mark on debut at Newbury on good to soft with the second place winning next time out to frank the form.

The filly also franked that form when a bold second at Salisbury behind Happy Romance in a Group Three, with the two of them outclassing the field.

Alcohol Free now seemed to have felt like the penny had dropped in that event and she improved massively on her final juvenile start to go on and win the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.

This season she has been seen twice, picking up from where she left off when winning the 17 runner Group Three Fred Darling Stakes.

Next time out she went after more Group One glory when racing in the 1000 Guineas and she managed to finish a fair fifth.

Sent to Royal Ascot she bounced back to form in a big way to land the Group One Coronation Cup, seeing off Mother Earth and Snow Lantern.

She could only finish third next time out in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket with the two horses she beat getting their revenge.

However, next time out the filly gave the best performance of her career to land the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood against the boys, seeing off Poetic Flare, who has since franked the form.

Her connections decided to have a crack at the Juddmonte International last time out stepping her up in trip and although brave it did not work with her not staying the trip.

She is superb at a mile and like many in this field can't be ruled out.

The son of Dubawi is a Group One winner in Dubai, Germany and Australia and was impressive on his first run of last season in the 2020 Joel Stakes, finishing third behind Guineas winner Kameko with his handler explaining his six year old lacked a little bit of race fitness.

With slight complications he wasn't seen again last term and returned at Goodwood this season in the Group Two Celebration Mile and having ran a cracker he went down by a short head.

Having had that run he improved once more to take out the Joel Stakes for a second time in his career on what was a stellar few days at Newmarket for his trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

It now seems to be all systems go for a second crack at this race with the seven year old looking to go better than he did in the race in 2019.

William Jarvis

The five year old mare has turned into a different horse this season, having always been a nice mare landing races like the Group Three Valiant Fillies' Stakes over course and distance at Ascot, but this term she has taken her form to a new level.

She started this season off in the Group Two Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket over 9f on quick ground and went on to win well.

The progressive stable star for Jarvis backed that up next time out when giving a career best performance to chase home Palace Pier in the Group One Lockinge Stakes.

The pair on the day went well clear of the third and then further clear of the rest of the field and that effort put her into favourite for the Group Two Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Again she had to settle for second with the big outsider Indie Angel for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori stealing the show up the inside.

Jarvis had been persistent about throwing her into the big races this term and next time she was seen finishing an extremely close fourth in the Group One Falmouth Stakes.

All of these experiences came together at Glorious Goodwood when she went on to take Group One Nassau Stakes in very taking style.

Last time out she was seen only beating one home over in France in the Group One Prix Jean Romanet with the ease in ground going against her.

Might find a few too good at the mile distance.

Mother Earth has been one of the stars of the mile fillies division this term running superbly in two Group One events and off the back of those she is the worthy favourite for this event.

The filly was a fair juvenile landing a Group Three event on her third start, and then towards the end of last season finishing second at the Breeders' Cup meeting in a Group One and also finishing a good third in the Group One Fillies' Mile.

The yard did not know what to expect for the daughter of Zoffany but on seasonal debut this term she managed to land the 1000 Guineas in taking style.

Off the back of that she was sent to France looking to land the 1000 Guineas double, but she could only finish second, giving another good account of herself.

Next time out the filly was seen finishing a close third behind Alcohol Free and Snow Lantern at Royal Ascot, but reversed some of the form when a narrow second in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.

Looking to get back to winning ways she went to France for the Group One Prix Rothschild and beat off a strong field of 13 runners to land the event.

Seen once more, next time out she found all kinds of traffic in running and in the end had to settle for third in the Group One Matron Stakes on Irish Champions weekend, with her getting no run at all.

Last time out she was consistent as ever finishing second behind the runaway winner Saffron Beach in the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes.

She is a dual Group One winner over a mile that at 16/1 could be a huge each way price, but has been heavily raced this term an it might catch up on her.

The penultimate runner of the event is The son of Roderic O'Connor, Njord who was an impressive winner of the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot (8f) on his final run last season and has performed notably down at 7f this season with runner up finishes in the John Of Gaunt Stakes (G3) and the Minstrel Stakes (G2).

He was very much weighted out of proceedings on his run at Galway in July over 8.5f back in a premier handicap, but he bounced straight back to form when third in the Group Two Hungerford Stakes next time out at Newbury.

He has been seen twice more since then, finishing fourth of 14 in the Group Two Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown, but last time out at Longchamp in the Prix de la Foret, he was totally outclassed and needs much more in this field.

Opposed.

Lord Glitters was a Group One winner in the UAE in the spring (9f), however was well off the pace when trying to replicate that level of success back on British soil at Newbury in the Lockinge, finishing a 10.25 length fourth behind Palace Pier.

The eight year old gelding bettered that margin when again finishing fourth next time out in the Queen Anne Stakes, this time 3.25 lengths behind Palace Pier.

A step down to a Group Three had him only beaten by a quickly improving Saeed Bin Suroor runner in Real World and that form is fairly decent.

However, last time out he was a well beaten fourth of five in the Superior Mile Stakes at Haydock and although a specialist at this track, he looks out of his depth now.
