The racing on Monday was somewhat of a calm day especially at Plumpton with the headline act being the Nicky Henderson trained Ok Corral in the colours of J P McManus making his debut successfully over hurdles and looks like a really nice prospect.
However the racing was not the only piece of action that caught the eye on At The Races as a young couple were caught in the process of getting engaged.
With no one knowing whether she was going to say yes there was a short pause before the lady said yes with the couple not knowing they are currently being filmed live on television.
Thankfully for the male it went as smooth as possible and was great to see such a joyous occasion take place at a racecourse.
Plumpton frequently host racing on a Monday and have seen some decent horses visit the track this year with the most noticeable being the Ante Post Arkle Trophy favourite at the Cheltenham festival Kalashnikov.
This year Plumpton are offering a bonus payment of £60,000 on nominated races that if they go onto win that race at the track and then go to the festival at Cheltenham in March and also win a race there, they will then pick up the prize.
This is a great incentive from the course and has seen more horses travel to the course in East Sussex to compete for these big prize pots.
However, the overall story of the day at the track is the newly engaged couple will always remember this day and where it took place.
