Today at Plumpton Racecourse for their Monday afternoon meeting we got the chance to interview ITV Racing's commentator Richard Hoiles and really pick his brains on a few topical issues.
Hoiles has been involved in horse racing for many years and there is not many people in the sport that know more about what is going on than him and in this interview he has really given us some great incite into what he thought about this weekend.
Cheltenham's three day trials meeting did not disappoint from a race goers point of view with winning favourites, tight finishes with a lot of drama and some horses to follow as the Cheltenham festival grows ever closer.
Richard Hoiles talks in depth into which horses really took his eye this weekend, including horses that went on to win and also horses that may not have go the victory they deserved but caught the eye with how well they ran in defeat.
A lot of what happened from Friday to Sunday at jumps racing HQ was to give us a clearer idea of what the markets will start to look like by the time we get to March, with the different trial races that were shown.
Hoiles also talked about what he thought about the weekends action in Ireland with Willie Mullins' Faugheen looking to get back to his best in what in the end was disappointing renewal of the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown.
The final thing the commentator spoke about was his three horses to follow this season. The interesting thing about his selections are that the horses aren't obvious choices that anyone could pick, they are suggestions that Richard has conjured up from the best spot in the house when watching the races in the commentary box.
