Yesterday we were at Kempton racecourse for their six race card where we managed to bump into ITV Racing and Racing UK Presenter and Pundit Rishi Persad and we got talking to him about some topical issues and also how the days racing went as a whole.
Rishi Persad has been a Pundit within horse racing for a long time now and used to have a lot to do with the Channel 4 Racing set up and is very well equipped to offer his racing opinion.
At Kempton on Monday the highlight of the day was the Listed Mares Chase where where Mia's Storm ran out a game winner at 4/6 favourite and looks to be a really smart mare to watch this year.
The other racing on the day also showed off some class horses that are worth keeping an eye out for the season. The first one on the day worth noting was the Paul Nicholls trained Danny Kirwan.
He may have finished second yesterday in a two runner race but Nicholls explained he has only had 6 weeks to prepare this horse and he still looked to be a really smart talent.
The other horse to make a name for himself and looks like he will go on to win some smart races this season is Chesterfield. He got back up to land the Class 4 Beginners Chase and really showed a gritty personality.
The day however was masked by the small runner fields in a race card that offered some decent prize money and if the ground wasn't so good would have seen some more runners.
This problem of no rain falling in Britain is really starting to make a big problem in British horse racing that only mother nature herself can eradicate.
Persad also on the nod of being at Kempton looked ahead to one of the biggest chasing Grade 1s of the season and discussed his horse to watch out for in the big race on Boxing Day.
All of this was discussed and a lot more in this interview below.
