Diva Luna should prove very difficult to beat in the opening race at Sandown on Friday.

The six-year-old mare for the Ben Pauling team was a matter performer in bumpers last season, which included a comfortable win at Aintree at the Grand National meet.

Has looked smart over hurdes this season, most recently winning over two miles and four at Cheltenham.

The drop back to two miles is no concern, having previously won over the trip at Lingfield in December.

The feature at Sandown today is the Grand Military Gold Cup. Farceur Du Large looks to hold the best claims for the Jamie Snowden yard, with Major Will Kellard taking the ride.

The ten-year-old was a clear-cut winner of this race last year, finishing six lengths clear of Broken Halo. Failed to perform on two following efforts last season.

However, he has a run under his belt already this season and should go very close in his hunt for back-to-back wins in the race.
