A Sea The Stars colt for Owen Burrows, Hukum was very lightly raced as a 2 year old before bursting onto the scene with an impressive performance to win the King George V at Royal Ascot last year.

He took Group 3 honours at Newbury after that and looked a more than capable 12 furlong horse.
Moved up in trip for the St Leger, he was very well backed in the market but couldn’t go with the principles and finished a respectable 5th place.

Experimenting with distance saw him well beaten over 10 furlongs at Sandown on reappearance behind Waldkonig but he bounced back to form with a listed win over a mile and half at Goodwood.

Since a strong performance in the Hardwicke Stakes, he’s notched up two impressive wins. Taking a Group 3 over 14 furlongs at York before backing up under a penalty in Group 3 company when last seen at Newbury.

He sets a strong standard and this looks a perfect prep run before heading over to France in Ocotober for the Arc.

One to beat.

Archie Watson
Age: 6
Weight: 9-5
OR: 110
Days: 36

A 6 year old gelding for Archie Watson, Outbox has been busy this year since joining his new yard. Already running 9 times since the start of the year, Outbox has won 3 of those outings.

Tried as a stayer when first joining Watson’s contingent, he simply wasn’t staying over marathon trips so was dropped back to 12 furlongs with great success.

Moving up in grade on soft ground saw him getting beaten quite comprehensively until encountering fast ground in a Listed race at Newmarket.

A return to fast ground seemingly brought out the best in him and he managed to scalp St Leger winner Logician.

Dispatched by Hukum over at York in the Silver Cup Stakes, he was last seen being brushed aside by Passion and Glory at Goodwood.

Dropping back down to 12 furlongs will help but he’s got something to find with the market principles.

Andrew Balding
Age: 5
Weight: 9-5
OR: 109
Days: 7

Andrew Balding sends his 5 year old Fox Tal, who’s had a very busy campaign this season.

This horse went down in notebooks when running a screamer to be 4th behind Magical in the Champion Stakes at Ascot at the end of the 2019 season.

However, the 5 year old hasn’t managed to run to anywhere near that level since.

A gelding operation at the end of last season looked to have brought about some improvement and he was only narrowly touched off on comeback at Chester in handicap company.

Beaten easily a few times this season, he doesn’t look capable of reversing form with Passion and Glory, who managed to just hold him off at Goodwood at the end of July.

Last seen only seven days ago coming 3rd in a Listed contest at Windsor, he’s been in and out for form. Those near the top of the market have beaten him already this season and he’s looking likely to be held again.

William Haggas
Age: 5
Weight: 9-5
OR: 108
Days: 442

William Haggas’ charge has seemingly been hard to keep sound and he’s only been seen a handful of times despite his age.

Only seven career runs as a 5 year old paint a picture of a troubled career.

His 3 year old season was highly successful and he handily won the Melrose Handicap at York during the Ebor festival before backing up again in handicap company off a mark of 98.

Narrowly beaten by subsequent Long Distance Cup winner Trueshan on his last 3 year old start, he was put away for the year.

Coming back in last year’s Hardwicke Stakes, he only managed 4th and hasn’t been seen since.

He’s yet to win over a mile and a half and is coming back off a long lay off.

Hard to trust.

Charlie Fellowes
Age: 8
Weight: 9-5
OR: 112
Days: 129

A globe trotting superstar for Charlie Fellows, Prince Of Arran’s CV boasts three podium finishes in Melbourne Cups.

Beaten less than a length in the last two runnings of the race that stops the nation, he’s not quite hit the same level of form on home shores.

A Group 3 handicap win in Australia back in October 2019 is the last time he tasted success.

This 8 year old has been highly consistent but the wins have been hard to come by.

He used this race last year as a warm up for the Melbourne Cup but found himself lacking pace to go after Enable, settling for 3rd.

Only seen once this season struggling behind Stradivarius in the Sagaro Stakes, he’s prone to younger legs getting the better of him again here.
