⚫ Southwell (17:00) - Jesse Luc

Jesse Luc represents the in-form Mike Murphy yard in the 17:00 at Southwell today.

The five-year-old has won once from nine starts on the all-weather, and has been in strong recent form.

He followed up a win over six furlongs at Chelmsford with a solid second over the same course and distance two weeks ago. This is more challenging, but he is in excellent form.

Velvet Vulcan could be an interesting outsider for the Mike Muprhy yard in the 19:00.

The six-year-old has won once from 17 starts on the all-weather, and will be making his first start for new connections today.

Has misfired on his last two starts, but major player on his best form over a mile and four last year, which included a win over the trip at Linfield in February.

Joolianoss should be hard to beat in his current run of form in the 20:00 today.

The James Evans-trained runner has won on each of his two starts, which included a fine success over a mile and two at Newcastle ten days ago.

Carries a penalty, but is an extremely progressive contender and is preferred to rack up the hat trick.
