The Karl Burke Trained Laurens who has had an amazing season adding five Group 1s to her overall career tally winning four of them this season. It has been announced that it is looking likely she will be supplemented in a battle of the sexes at Ascot on Champions Day in the Queen Elizabeth II.
This superstar filly has had an unbelievable season and is very much up there with Alpha Centauri for being the best filly of the year and with the Jessica Harrington trained horse sadly been retired, Laurens has took full advantage of this to try and over take her in the Cartier Horse Of The Year standings.
Karl Burke is giving this horse a quick turn around from her last Group 1 success last weekend at Newmarket in the Sun Chariot's Stakes, but is confident she can deal with the time frame and even more encouraging that she will be able to deal with the colts for the first time this year.
Other news for the horse will see Burke's retained jockey PJ Mcdonald who has been out of action recently, will return before the race and see him get back aboard the five time Group 1 winner instead of Danny Tudhope who has rode the filly in her last two Group 1 wins.
She will be getting an allowance of the colts and is already four pounds lighter than when last seen at Newmarket so the race on Champions day does seem a solid fit.
Laurens opens up in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes market at 9/2 but when she becomes officially supplemented next week this price will be sure to change.
