The first horse to follow at the weekend comes in the Listed Ebor Grand Cup Stakes at York over a marathon trip and Makawee for David O'Meara has plenty going in her favour.

The six year old mare has been highly consistent for the yard, especially this season, running two very credible events ver staying trips and the drying ground will only suit her on Saturday.

She started the term off at Goodwood in a small runner Listed event over 1m4f and was nabbed on the line by the smart Alpinista.

The daughter of Farhh then went on to finish third last time out in a Group Three over todays course and distance and distance and having not been beaten that far she should go well again dropping down in class on quicker ground.

Another nice runner from York to keep an eye on comes in the Maiden Stakes over six furlongs and Bosh for Richard Hannon could be a very smart individual.

The two year old is set to be ridden by the inform Tom Marquand and if coming on for his debut he could be tough to beat showing the best form in the field.

Bosh on debut went over five furlongs at Salisbury on good to soft ground and finished a close second behind the talented Second Wind for William Haggas.

Getting onto better ground is a plus for this horse and he should also have plenty more experience when it comes to racing in general.

The final horse we believe is worth following on Saturday is the highly talented Run To Freedom who makes his handicap debut over 7f at Sandown.

The three year old has only been seen three times and all of his runs came last term as a juvenile, starting over 7f at Newbury when looking to learn from his first experience.

He did just this when running next time out and finishing a good second at Kempton over 7f and then he was last seen getting off the mark over the same course and distance.

The form of his win in December is superb, with the second Highland Avenue since winning three times including in Listed company, with the third and fifth also going on to win since.

He could turn out to be a special horse and looks very interesting on seasonal return.
