Three Horses To Follow This Week - 09/06/20

Patrick Sarsfield

The first horse we believe it may pay to follow this week is the Joseph O'Brien trained Patrick Sarsfield who is a four year old on the up.

The gelding is very unexposed for his age only racing four times and placing in all of those events, getting off the mark in fine style last time out at the Curragh.

In October the son of Australia won a 14 runner maiden but absolutely obliterated the field in doing so and improving will be very tough to be in the Irish Lincoln on Friday.

Siskin

The Irish 2000 Guineas is the first Classic of the season in Ireland and the favourite Siskin will take all the beating if picking up from where he left off as a two year old.

Siskin was the top two year old in Ireland last season, seeing off all competition in his four starts including landing his trainers first ever Group One in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

The three year old showed he was a pace merchant last season racing over six furlongs for the entire season and the racing world will be watching on to see if he can get the extra two furlongs that the 2000 Guineas desires on Friday.

Albigna

Finally the Irish 1000 Guineas on the Saturday rounds off a superb few days at the Curragh and Albigna heads the market for the inform Jessica Harrington.

The three year old daughter of Zoffany has been up and down in some of her races but when it matters has shown up and put in some excellent performances.

She has won three of her five outings including the Group One Prix Marcel Boussac at the Arc meeting at ParisLongchamp and also at the start of her career she won the Group Two Airlie Stud Stakes.

Her trainer believes she will be much better as a three year old and if getting back into the groove straight away may be tough to beat.

Harrington could not have started the Irish season any better after landing a treble at Naas on the first day of resumption of racing in Ireland showing how fit her horses are.
