On only his second start for Martin Pipe, Jacbequick got off the mark over timber in the Greene King IPA Handicap Hurdle, beating a good rival in Mauricio into second. Entered this handicap on a fair mark, and after a long period on the flat, took full advantage of his favourite surface - good ground. Scored by just over three lengths.
13:30 Jacbequick
14:40 Ocelot
Ocelot, who got off the mark for the season over at Musselburgh last month, followed that success up in Get Daily Tips At racinguk.com Handicap at Nottingham. Racing mid-division towards the near side, she began to make headway over a furlong out, and ran on strongly inside the final furlong. Won at a nice price winning a nice prize in the making.
15:40 Arch My Boy
An hour later, Arch My Boy - who showed some useful form in bumpers last season, used that to full effect when running out an easy winner of the racinguk.com Novice Stakes. Martin Smith's gelding - who finished 15th in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, made all and never saw a rival. He came clear two furlongs from the finish, and won very very easily. Only a 4yo - looks a smart prospect.
