Today we are looking back at the 2017 version of the Group One St Leger, with it being one of the best renewals of the race in the last few years, seeing multiple superstars take on each other.
Aidan O'Brien managed to take the contest with Capri, but the race is fondly remembered for the horses that finished in behind the winner.
Back in second was the Group One Prince Of Wales's Stakes winner Crystal Ocean and in third for the same owner was the superstar stayer Stradivarius.
There are not many renewals of this Classic event that are looked back on and more is thought about the horses back in places than the actual winner.
Capri was a worthy winner on the day for Ballydoyle but after landing the event only went on to win once at Naas in a Group Three event.
