Today the throwback race of the day will be paying tribute to the superstar Black Corton who was retired after his race at the weekend and today we are looking back at his Grade One win back in 2017.
Black Corton for Paul Nicholls has been a horse that has captured the hearts of the racing world, being a small horse that ping his fences and just keeps digging in over the staying trips.
His relationship with the Bryony Frost is what has made the headlines over the years, propelling her career into a new stratosphere, when giving her a first win in a Grade One event.
On Boxing Day 2017 Black Corton was sent into the Grade One Kauto Star Novices' Chase over three miles and under a superb ride by his best mate Bryony Frost went on to take out the event.
The gelding has been a horse to remember for a top stable and after some lesser performances this season, connections decided it was time for him to retire and we are now left with memories like this.
