Today we are looking back at last year's Royal Ascot festival with the feature meeting of the flat season now less than a few weeks away.
The race we are focusing in on is the Group One King's Stands Stakes with the sprint event seeing some superb winners over the years, but maybe none better than 2020 winner Battaash.
The superstar for Charles Hills and Shadwell Stud landed the event at the third time of asking having been narrowly beat on two other occasions by Blue Point.
Last season, he finally got the job done taking the event by close to three lengths from stablemate Equilateral and the John Quinn trained Liberty Beach.
Battaash off the back of winning the Group One went on to take the King George Qatar Stakes and then the Group One Nunthorpe Stakes.
He will be heading back to the Berkshire track this term looking to retain his title and having suffered an injury setback is now said to be back in fine form.
Enjoy!
