We are starting the week by looking back at last year's winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas with the Group One event being the highlight of this weeks racing.
The first Irish Classic event of the season always brings a strong field of runners together and last year's renewal is up there with one of the best seen for a while.
All the talk was about the Ger Lyons trained Siskin, who was a superstar as a juvenile landing all four of his events including the Group One Phoenix Stakes.
Having been a specialist over 6f it was unsure whether he would get the mile, but he did and Siskin went on to land his trainers first ever Classic winner.
After that he was tried at black type level in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, Prix du Moulin at ParisLongchamp and Breeders' Cup Mile at Keeneland and unfortunately could not show his best form.
A horse of a lifetime for the yard and today we are looking back at his only win as a three year old.
Enjoy!
