The Long Walk Hurdle on Saturday at Ascot could be set for one of its best renewals of recent times with the horses that are proposed to line up on the day and honour of the race we have looked back at some special memories of the Grade One event.
In 2015 after three straight wins in the race by Reve de Sivola, there was a new superstar in town and his name was Thistlecrack.
The Colin Tizzard trained gelding has gone on to have a superb career over the years landing Grade Ones over both fences and hurdles.
What makes this performance so special was how he won and how it kicked his career along then going on to win the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival.
After his hurdling spells he moved up to the chasing big leagues pretty much straight away and became one of the few novices to win the King George VI Chase.
