The Clarence House Chase at Ascot is the feature race of the weekend and in honour of the race we have taken a look back at last year's renewal of the contest as a throwback race of the day.
Defi Du Seuil was the star of the two mile chasing division last term, landing the Shloer Chase and the Tingle Creek before going on to take this event.
Although being poor since this run, the gelding has been a star during his career landing numerous Grade One events over both hurdles and fences and one of best performances came in this event.
He renewed his battle with the veteran Un De Sceaux having just beat him in the Tingle Creek and again it was another close affair between the pair of them with the younger horse just doing enough in the final stages.
Defi Du Seuil will be looking to bounce back to form on Saturday and land the event for the second year running, but it looks a tough task with some of the runners in the field at the top of their game.
