Today's throwback race of the day is taking us back to one of the best renewals of the Grade One Ryanair Stayers' Hurdle at Aintree, with the 2019 resumption seeing a superb finish between three horses.
If The Cap Fits, Roksana and Irish raider Apple's Jade ran out a superb version of the event with Harry Fry's staying hurdler managing to just do enough on the line.
Many races at Aintree suffer in class due to the Cheltenham festival being so close but this was one of the races that did not and it showed in the finish.
If The Cap Fits has now gone chasing, but is also prone to moving back over to hurdles, where as superstar Roksana has been top class this season and is still one of the best staying mares in the sport.
Apple's Jade was one of the best mares of her generation landing numerous Grade Ones in England and Ireland and is now retired to stud.
Enjoy!
