Today we are keeping on the Epsom Derby theme and looking back at the 2019 renewal of the Classic event and it saw Aidan O'Brien land the event for the seventh time in his career with Anthony Van Dyck.
The late son of Galileo was a superstar during his career, being a smart juvenile but hitting the heights of his career when taking the Derby in 2019.
Having won a Trial for the Classic event at Lingfield, he managed to see off the likes of Maghmoon, Japan and Broome in a tight finish to take the race for the master Ballydoyle trainer.
Although only winning once race after that in the Prix Foy at Parislongchamp, he went close in numerous superb events and unfortunately was last seen in the Melbourne Cup in 2020, when suffering a fatal injury.
Today we are honouring the horse by looking back at his win in the 2019 Derby.
Enjoy!
