Cheltenham traditionally host the best card to start off the year on January 1st with some superb races that warm the cockles for those that have been out on New Year's Eve.
One of the best races across the meeting at Prestbury Park is the Grade Two Dipper Novices' Chase that over the years has been won by some smart horses.
We have taken a look back to last year's race with this terms proposed meeting not going ahead due to the track being waterlogged.
The 2019 Dipper was one of the most memorable races at the meeting with the favourite Champ a very short price on the day and expected to land the event.
The horse was cruising, but at the second fence from home he made a mistake and fell leaving the race to be cleaned up by Midnight Shadown.
Off the back of that race everyone thought Champ was done, but then went on to win the RSA Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham festival.
