The Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter represents the racecourses' best event of the season and as the 2020 renewal is set to go ahead later today we are dedicating today's throwback race to last year's resumption.
The Grade Two event always sees a smart field of runners heading to post, usually for their first run of the season and being able to land a Graded event on their seasonal debuts makes it an attractive race to enter.
Last season saw a decent field head to post and the race was landed by the Nicky Henderson trained Janika who managed to give his handler a fourth success in the race.
It has been this horses biggest scalp over fences during his career and in the past the race has been won by some very special horses.
