Today's throwback race of the day looks back at a super renewal of the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow ahead of the race on Saturday afternoon.
In 2016 Native River for Colin Tizzard landed the Event and over the last 10 years has become one of the only horses that has gone on to be a serious Grade One staying horse.
Many winners of this race peak when winning the contest, but for Native River it was the start of a superb career that has seen him land multiple Grade Two events and the Grade One Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Colin Tizzard has a great record in the event winning two of the last four renewals and he will hoping to do so again on the 9th January.
Native River has had an exceptional career and now reaching the age of 11 does not have many years left in him, but for his trainer and connections he owes nothing to anyone.
