Today we thought we would dedicate the race of the day to a jockey and a very special rider at that with Jamie Spencer currently spending some time on the sidelines due to a severe hip injury he sustained on the gallops, we are hoping this throwback will cheer him up.
Spencer is known for his very particular riding style with not letting his horses off the bridle until the final moments, getting his horses to the front cruising and then punishing his opposition.
One of his best cases of this at the highest level came over in Ireland in 2009 when he was riding the English raider Sariska for Michael Bell.
The race was full of Aidan O'Brien's star mares but they would be no match for this strong travelling mare owned by Lady Bamford.
