The Ladbrokes Trophy has played host to some superb winners over the years and of the best has to be the Paul Nicholls trained Denman who landed this event twice in his career.
He first took the race in 2007 with a superb round of jumping off top weight, giving everyone one in the field a clear chance to beat him with most horses getting a stone in hand.
Having missed the 2008 renewal he was back in 2009 and again off top weight did the unthinkable of charging over the last to beat 18 other runners by a clear margin.
In this throwback we are looking at his last victory as having won the event once is superb, but having done it twice off the same weight is just remarkable and it is what makes him one of the greatest jumps horses of the 21st Century.
