2018 at the Cheltenham festival throughout some superb contests that will go down in the memory books of the great four day meeting but it could not have started any better than what happened in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

All the talk before the Grade One was about Willie Mullins and his new prodigy Getabird who ultimately flopped in the race leaving the field to be dominated by the British runners.

Amy Murphy fielded the second favourite Kalashnikov and the female handler thought she had landed the contest when jumping the last clear, but it was not to be.

What happened up the famous hill was truly astounding and the reason why today's throwback race of the day goes to this event.
