The Scottish Grand National on Sunday is the highlight race of the weekend and today we are looking back at the 2018 renewal where it saw one of the best finishes to the race in recent history.
The now 12 year old has been known over the years for running over staying trips and the biggest win of his career came in this event.
The Rebecca Curtis trained gelding was 33/1 for the marathon contest and when jumping the last looked in trouble with the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Ballyoptic rallying late.
The pair battled it out up the run in at Ayr and was only split by a photo-finish, with Joe Farrell getting the verdict and giving his connections a day to remember.
He has not been the same horse since his win in the race and now a veteran may not be seen many more times, if ever again.
