Tuesday sees the Group One Prix Rothschild from Deauville and with it being one of the best races of the week, today we are looking back at last year's renewal.
A horse that made her debut in June 2020 at Navan when finishing second over 5.5f, she went on to run eight times during her juvenile career, never showing the ability she did as a three year old.
Only winning one of her eight races at two, she did finish a superb second on her final start of 2020 when sent to Keeneland for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on just her second try at the mile.
Back as a three year old, she wintered unbelievably and returned in the 1000 Guineas and went on to win under a great ride by Frankie Dettori.
That set up her three year old campaign going on to place in the French 1000 Guineas, Coronation Stakes and Falmouth Stakes at Group One level.
She got back to winning ways in France when landing this Group One at Deauville in determined fashion and then carried on her consistent ways by placing in the Matron Stakes and Sun Chariot Stakes.
The filly was seen three more times last season when fifth of 10 behind Baaeed at Ascot in the QEII, a poor run at Del Mar in the Breeders Cup Mile and then a fair fourth in the Hong Kong Mile.
Mother Earth was all set for a big campaign this term when landing a Group Three at the Curragh on debut but unfortunately in her last two runs she has massively underperformed only beating three rivals and the Ballydoyle team have took the decision to retire her.
Overall the filly has managed to land two Group One races in two different countries racking up £212,662 in Prize Money.
Enjoy!
