Today we are taking a look back at the 2021 renewal of the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle with this seasons contest set to show off some very likeable superstars.
The Tolworth Hurdle is the first Grade One in England in the new year and last season it saw the making of Harry Fry's Metier who took the spoils.
Although not taking on a stellar field in the race, in the heavy ground the gelding went on to power clear of Shakem Up'Arry back in second by 12 lengths.
He has not been seen winning since but that performance in that attritional ground at Sandown is up there with one of the special runs seen in the great race.
