Today we are taking a look back at the first Irish Classic of the season with the Irish 2000 Guineas set to take place on Saturday and in honour of the race we are taking a look at last year's renewal.
Jim Bolger has been at the forefront of Irish racing for numerous decades and in 2021 landed his first ever 2000 Guineas with the smart Mac Swiney.
A race that was run on heavy ground suited the superstar Mac Swiney who landed his second Group One having took the Vertem Futurity Stakes as a two year old at Doncaster.
The three year old managed to see off stablemate Poetic Flare who took the English 2000 Guineas, which gave Bolger the Irish and English Classic in 2021.
With this seasons Irish 2000 Guineas looking another classy event we thought we would take a look back at last year's.
