With the Cheltenham festival now over it sees the start of the flat season start to get close and many in the sport see the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster the first real day of the term.
This coming Saturday sees the 2022 renewal of the great race and in honour of the race today we are taking a look back at the John Gosden trained Haqeeqy.
A horse that was primed for the race by the master British trainer having won over the same course and distance in the September before, which left him still on a fair mark and experience of the track.
Not seen again until the big day, he was given a superb ride by young 7lb claimer Benoit De La Sayette, with a certain race manoeuvre winning them the race.
Enjoy!
