Today we are looking back at the Grade One Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown with the two mile event seeing some of the best Irish hurdlers in the sport over the years.
We are going back to 2017, where Faugheen the Machine went on to land the event for Willie Mullins and Rich Ricci, with the gelding being one of the sports superstar horses of the last eight years.
The son of Germany had been a frequent Grade One winner before landing this event, picking up races like the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival.
Although the Faugheen went on to land much better races than this throughout his career, over both fences and hurdles, with the big race set to take place on Sunday we are looking back at this performance.
During this win he went on to beat three other runners, seeing off his closest competitor Jezki by an eased down 16 lengths.
Enjoy!
