Newbury host the best racing of the weekend on the flat in the UK with the Group Three Greenham Stakes the feature and in honour of the race we have looked back at last year's renewal.
A smart juvenile winning all three of his first races, including the Group Two Champagne Stakes over 7f at Doncaster on good ground.
The soft ground went against him in his last run as a two year old when well beaten in the G1 Dewhurst behind St Mark’s Basilica.
Returning as a three year old he landed this event on debut at Newbury over 7f in determined fashion just getting to the long time leader Mehmento for Archie Watson.
Chindit has since gone on to have a good career finishing in and around the frame in some seriously special races and he started this term in the same fashion by winning well at Doncaster.
