Today we are taking a look back at the 2020 renewal of the Grade One Betfair Chase with Bristol De Mai making it a third win in the race in just four years.
A winner of the Betfair Chase in 2017 and 2018, he then came back looking to make it a hat-trick but had to settle for second behind Lostintranslation.
The Betfair Chase is the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained horses' Gold Cup every season, usually getting heavy ground he loves the track and gets the job done.
He did just that in 2020 when getting back to winning ways in the race and last season looking for a record fourth win he was unfortunately pulled up.
A superstar in the race and a superstar for the yard he will this year go back to try and land his fourth win in the race but now at the age of 11 it looks a tough task.
