Today we are looking back at last year's winner of the Vertem Futurity Stakes, with the final Group One of the flat season set to take place at Doncaster on Saturday.
Jim Bolger's star Mac Swiney was the latest winner of this great Group One seeing off the challenge of One Ruler and Baradar in heavy ground.
The 12/1 shot was a shock winner on the day but as a three year old this season has gone onto show that it was far from a fluke, placing and taking out some nice races.
The highlight of his career to date has seen him land the Group One Irish 2000 Guineas, with the key to this horse being heavy ground.
Mac Swiney was last seen in the Champion Stakes at Ascot last week finishing a good third behind some nice types, but today we are looking back at his first Group One success.
