Today we are looking back at last year's renewal of the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle and it was won by the same horse that landed the event the year before.
Sire Du Berlais for Gordon Elliott loves racing at Cheltenham having landed this event in 2019 under a superb ride by Barry Geraghty.
Last year he was hiked up 7lb for that win in the same race and still went on to land the event, seeing off the Grade One winning chaser The Storyteller.
When looking back at that race it looked a very strong renewal with it being quicker on the clock than the Grade One Stayers' Hurdle over the same course and distance.
Sire Du Berlais this year goes for the Stayers' Hurdle instead this season and is one of the leading hopes for the Irish for a race that looks one of the few to be heading to the English.
