Today we are taking a look back at last year's Grade One Morgiana Hurdle with the Punchestown feature event set to take place this weekend.
Superstar Irish trainer Willie Mullins has won 10 of the last 11 renewals of the Grade One event and could have as many as six go to post for this years event.
Last year he landed the race with the consistent Sharjah who has been one of the poster boys for the yard in two mile hurdle events over the last few years and having won this race twice will be forever thought of as a star.
The time of year to catch Sharjah was always in this race and around Christmas with him always bumping into better horses at the likes of the Cheltenham and Punchestown festival.
Last season the Morgiana only saw three runners with Zanahiyr and stablemate Echoes In Rain making up the rest of the field.
Elliott was trying to ruin the Mullins show having done so the year before with Abacadabras, bur Sharjah was just far too good on the day winning with plenty in hand.
Enjoy!
