This Wednesday we have looked back at one of the stellar contests from the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, the Ultima Handicap every year sees a huge field go to post but this season the runners looked a class above.
On the first day of the festival every punter is looking to get off to a fast start and not be chasing their loses throughout the week and for many this year The Conditional gave the punters the edge.
Opening up around 9/1 the David Bridgwater trained gelding went off shorter and in one of the best renewals of the Grade Three Handicap he managed to get up close home when it looked impossible.
Jumping the second last he made a big error and it looked as if his race was done but he rallied and jumped the last well to stay on up the hill and grab the race by a whisker.
It was one of many races across this seasons festival that ended in a photo finish.
