Today's throwback race of the day sees us look back at last year's renewal of the Grade Two WKD Hurdle at Down Royal, with smart hurdler Aspire Tower laying down the gauntlet to the rest of the two mile division.
The five year old owned by Robcour was a very smart juvenile hurdler, winning a nice event at Punchestown before landing Grade Two glory by 18 lengths at Leopardstown.
Having taken a unexpected fall next time out, he then went to the Cheltenham festival for the Juvenile Hurdle and although well bet did manage to finish second behind Burning Victory.
Last term she started her season off in the Grade Two WKD Hurdle and taking on the likes of Abacadabras and Jason The Militant, he went on to score readily.
From there he was chucked into difficult company, finishing a good second behind Sharjah in the Matheson Hurdle and then being saved for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival and finishing a fair fourth.
