Today we are taking a look back at last year's Group Two Dante Stakes winner Hurricane Lane with the 2022 renewal set to take place today.
The Charlie Appleby trained and Godolphin owned superstar kickstarted last season with a win in this event, emphatically seeing off a talented bunch of horses to put him self into the Derby picture.
Having lost a shoe in running at Epsom he still managed to grab third, but his big day in the sun came after that when landing the Irish Derby a few weeks later.
He went on to take two more Group One events in his career, going to France and scoring in the Grand Prix de Paris and then back in England, up in trip when winning the St Leger.
Hurricane Lane looked to round off his season in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longhcamp in October and although running a cracker had to settle for third behind the outsider Torquator Tasso and Tarnawa.
