Today we are looking back at the superstar Altior's 2019 win in the Clarence House Chase, with Nicky Henderson's chaser only seeing off two rivals, but doing it in emphatic style.
A career like no other the retired 12 year old went 19 races over hurdles and fences without being beaten, with that only coming to an end when moved up in trip.
Throughout his career he has gone on to land multiple Grade One races like 2x Champion Chase, Arkle, Supreme Novices' Hurdle, 3x Celebration Chase, Tingle Creek and obviously the Clarence House Chase just to name a few.
Taking on the talented Fox Norton and Diego Du Charmil, Altior made all going 10 lengths clear after the last to then be eased down to win by slightly less.
A talent we may not see again in the world of racing for a very long time, so today we are looking back and honouring his win in the great race.
Enjoy!
