Throwback Thursday Race Of The Day - 20/05/21

Today we are looking back at the 2017 renewal of the Irish 2000 Guineas with the 2021 resumption of the race now just 48 hours away.

Churchill was a supremely smart racehorse for Aidan O'Brien, landing the Guineas double in 2017 and also as a juvenile landed big races like the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group One Vincent O'Brien National Stakes.

He was thought of as one of the best sons of Galileo to grace the turf and when landing the Irish 2000 Guineas cemented himself as a top miler.

Now producing offsprings that will hopefully one day go on to land races like the Guineas, we think it is a good time to look back at his win in the Irish Classic event.
