The 2017 Grade One Clarence House Chase is the race we are throwing it back today with this renewal of the race taking place at Cheltenham, with the original meeting at Ascot abandoned due to frost.
The great veteran for Willie Mullins has now been retired after a superb career over fences which saw him land multiple black type events in both England and Ireland.
One of the main races that Un De Sceaux will be remembered for is the Clarence House Chase, having landed the event three consecutive times from 2016 to 2018.
The gelding after his three successes also tried to win the race again in 2020 finishing a narrow second to Defi Du Seuil and that was the last time he was seen on a racecourse.
Having been 13 it was time to end his illustrious career and in honour of the horse and the latest resumption of this race, we have looked back to the 2017 contest at Cheltenham.
