A very much a forgotten horse of the past but Sir Michael Stoute and his seven year old Poet's Word back in 2017/18 was truly a horse to admire especially after landing one of the most nail biting Group Ones ever seen at Ascot.
The Saeed Suhail owned runner went off second favourite for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes back in July 2018 behind stable mate Crystal Ocean.
With not much to split the pair for the master trainer Sir Michael Stoute he opted to race them against each other and what a race it turned out to be.
coming up the straight run for home, Crystal Ocean went early leaving James Doyle to come from last to first on Poet's Word if he wanted to win the race and he did it in some style.
