Today we are looking back at the 2020 renewal of the Coral Eclipse with the feature Group One this weekend set to be one of the races of the season if all parties turn up.
It was one of the best renewals of the recent years with a host of stars taking on each other and it was the younger pretender Ghaiyyath for Charlie Appleby who took the spoils.
Taking on the likes of the queen of racing Enable, Group One winners Japan, Magic Wand and Deidre, the Godolphin owned animal went from the front as usual and was not for catching, winning by just over two lengths.
The superstar in his final season went on to be the horse of the year winning four of his five races during the season including the Coronation Cup, Eclipse, Juddmonte International and was then a narrow second in the Irish Champion Stakes.
Enjoy!
