On this fine Thursday we are looking back at one of the best renewals of the Grade One Mares Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival back in 2017.
With 17 mares heading to post looking for black type glory all the talk was about three horses, two from Willie Mullins and owner Rich Ricci with Limini and Vroum Vroum Mag and Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown Stud's Apple's Jade.
All three were set for their toughest test to date with Limini heading into the contest after scoring at the festival the season before in the Grade Two Mares Novices Hurdle and the other two finishing first and second in a Grade One in Ireland.
The market found it very hard to pick the three apart and it was the same during the race with all three of them jumping the last with a chance and what happened up the run in was very special.
