We now move onto our third throwback of the week and this race we believe goes under the radar for how special it actually was.
Staying with the theme of 2017 races, it seems to be that the racing in that year pulled out some of the best battles on both the jumps and the flat over the last decade.
Sizing John is best known for landing the 2017 Gold up at Cheltenham and has since that season never been the same horse with injuries curbing his career.
However, the race we are throwing it back to today is the final leg of Jessica Harringtons's Geldings hat-trick of Gold Cups at Punchestown.
Having already landed the Leopardstown and Cheltenham features during the season he headed to Punchestown to take on British raider and 2015 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Coneygree and frequent second in these type of races Djakadam for Willie Mullins.
The small fielded event was all about those three in the run up and in the actual race they all delivered with Coneygree bouncing out in front and the other two tracking him all the way round.
The race really hotted up in the final stages with all three jumping the final fence together and from there it was one of the best finished to a race you will see.
Enjoy!
