Everyone's favourite chasing star Tiger Roll could be seen as early as the weekend again with Gordon Elliott giving the dual Grand National winner a potential entry in the Lismullen Hurdle on Sunday at Navan.
The five time Cheltenham festival winner made his seasonal debut at Navan on the flat over 1 mile 6 furlongs and although only beating a few home, Elliott was happy with his blow out and believed it was just what he needed ahead of the season.
The Grand National star could now be seen on Sunday in the Grade Two Lismullen Hurdle over two and a half miles as his next stepping stone towards the bigger obstacles, where the Cross Country Chase and Grand National will be his targets again.
The yard explained that last year did not go to plan with Tiger Roll picking up an injury which impacted how his season played out, only being able to finish a long way second to Easysland in the Cross Country Chase at Prestbury Park.
It may have been a blessing in disguise that the Grand National was cancelled due to Covid for the horse, as he is now reported to be back to his best and has a huge chance of making history by landing a third consecutive Grand National.
The yard are being patient with their approach to the 10 year olds campaign this season with the pocket rocket on the radar of all national hunt fans.
