Trainer Michael Scudamore on Wednesday is looking to have a winner on the all weather at Newcastle with their extra bumper based card, sending just one runner to the northern based track on the day, which sees the handler make a 510 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
Scudamore fields one of the outsiders on the day with Catfish Row being a 50/1 shot today and only looking to hold a chance off the back of this stat.
The five year old was an average horse on the flat and with those lesser performances was sent over hurdles this term by the trainer and it unfortunately did not change much.
However, a staying trip might be what is needed for this horse having been sent to Lingfield last timeout over two miles and finishing a close sixth of 11.
He will need to come on for that run with this event today being a much better standard but, Scudamore has a superb record when travelling this far with his horses, running at a 28% strike rate for his career having 40 winners from 142 travelling horses.
