On Tuesday, trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam aims to continue his rich vein of form up at Ffos Las where he sends just the one runner on the 480 mile round trip from his stables down in Newmarket all the way up to South Wales.
Whenever we see a yard travel a fair distance, particularly with just one horse, we like to highlight it as we believe they would not be travelling all that way if they did not believe they had a live chance of picking up prize money along the way.
It is worth noting the former Classic-winning handler has enjoyed plenty of previous success when travelling at least this distance or further with his horses, having had an impressive 20 winners from 64 runners (31% strike rate), and this afternoon will be his first ever runner at the track.
The horse he is solely represented by today is SAYF AL DAWLA, a 525,000gns yearling by Frankel, who poses very much an unknown quantity with today being his racecourse debut, but the yard certainly know how to ready one and this expensive colt brings somewhat a class edge to this Class 5 maiden.
The expensive colt is out of 1m Group 1 winner Attraction and also related to a number of winners, most notably Elarqam, who still is considered a very smart performer up to 11f.
Therefore, whilst there are little concerns over his stamina for the mile today, there is every chance he may prove much better suited over further in time, but nevertheless he arrives with a lofty reputation to upkeep and merits the utmost respect ahead of his first career start.
