It may be an obvious shout with John Gosden being one of the greatest trainers of all time but he holds some very strong entries on the first day of the Ebor meeting.
In the five runner Group Two Voltigeur Stakes Logician looks to be a potential superstar with the three year old colt having three starts to date and is unbeaten in all of them, only featuring in Class 4 and 3 races but still showing heaps of ability to warrant plenty of respect in this contest.
The St Leger could be a target for him and this contest will put him in good stead to see how close he is to being able to mix it with the elite of that division.
King Of Comedy is another colt the trainer is very fond of ahead the Group One Juddmonte International, progressively improving in every race and this contest looks a good chance to land his first black type win.
He landed a Class 5 at Yarmouth on his seasonal debut and then took the Listed Heron Stakes at Sandown. From there he headed to Royal Ascot where he was a very narrow second to Circus Maximus in the St James's Palace Stakes and that is a strong form line heading into the contest.
Gosden will be hoping for a fine four days of racing from his horses with his stable star Enable set to run in the Yorkshire Oaks on Thursday and on day one he has some really nice chances.
